we hope this section will provide you with answers to some of the common questions surrounding Christian yoga and Soulshine's classes and services specifically. If your question is not addressed here, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
Our classes are generally 60 and 75 minutes long and accommodate all levels of experience. We integrate Scripture, prayer, and worship into the physical discipline of yoga, moving to the rhythm of our breath and contemporary Christian music. Classes focus on postures that build strength, endurance, patience, balance and flexibility. You will be encouraged to move in joy, take rest as needed, and listen to YOUR body. Expect benefits like reduced stress and anxiety, improved posture, toned muscles, better sleep, increased concentration, and weight loss and maintenance, just to name a few!
We offer open-level vinyasa classes that connect postures with breath awareness while exploring and emphasizing the principles of proper engagement and alignment. Modifications and variations are offered and encouraged, making classes appropriate for all levels, nurturing and inspiring beginners while still giving the experienced lover of yoga the opportunity for growth.
You've come to the right place! Just arrive early for your first class so you can ask questions and let your instructor know about any special needs. Also, you might consider a private session to learn some fundamentals before stepping into a class, but this is certainly not necessary.
Just bring yourself! We have everything you need for your practice including mats, blocks and straps.
Please drink plenty of water before and after class to maintain healthy hydration. You are also welcome to drink water during class.
Go easy on eating before yoga. Over time, you will discover what works best for your body, whether it's practicing with an empty stomach or enjoying something light beforehand. Always listen to your body!
We recommend comfortable clothing that will enable you to move freely. Shorts, sweats, leggings, fitted tees and tanks are all appropriate. Yoga is traditionally practiced in bare feet so please leave your shoes at the door!
Yoga is a system of physical postures and breathing techniques that can be used to accomplish many different goals. These goals include things like managing stress, learning to relax, or increasing flexibility. Yoga is a spiritual discipline, not a religion or exclusive to any one religion.
We are dedicated to teaching a style of yoga called Holy Yoga which uses the spiritual discipline of yoga to connect to Jesus and nurture our relationship with Him.
Soulshine classes are for everyone. Yoga is a physical practice of mind and body control, not a religion of any denomination. We welcome (and encourage!) seekers and believers from all backgrounds, as well as those who simply love yoga.
We believe that Holy Yoga should be available to anyone and everyone. If there is a financial barrier keeping you from worshiping God through this practice, please contact us.
We currently accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. You can also make purchases using PayPal through our online shop.
While we are not a designated 501c3 organization, we appreciate your financial support. All donations will be used to fulfill our mission of offering the Gallatin Valley community the experience of worshiping and honoring God through Holy Yoga. We believe we are called to be light. Donations can be made in person, via mail or through our online shop. Thank you so much.
